9/17/2008 - My First Baptism Coming Up!

This week was fast. Already, everyday seems to just fly by and I´ve only been out 2 weeks. This week, we really focused on 2 investigators, Fernanda and Kazeker (Names here in Brazil are a little different, people have 4 names, and they basically just choose one to go by. Even in church!) Anyway, The both of them have been progressing a lot. Last week we taught Kazeker the 2 and 3 lesson in one visit. Already he is talking about wanting to go on a mission. He is really excited to be “Elder Kazeker.” He is going to be baptised this sunday! My first baptism, and I was here for the whole process, and I´ve only been out 2 weeks!! Crazy! Just yesterday, he asked me if I would be the one to baptise him! Wow! It just didn´t seem real. I am going to be bringing this youngman into the church, a youngman who could be a future stake president, bishop, or general authority. Haha, I just changed the lives of generations. It is amazing! The other, Fernanda, is married and has a son that is 4. We have been working with them as a couple, but Fernanda is progressing faster than her husband Rafael. On sunday, she went to church with us. She had such a great time, and all the people were so nice to her. She said that she had never felt such peace and joy after a church meeting before. On Monday, she went to a family night with us. She loved it too. She even decided that she wants to do one with us on Friday! Just yesterday, when we stopped by to visit her, she was so happy that she absolutely insisted that she made us some dinner. It was funny (and awesome! Missionaries love food)! Her son told us that when he grows up he wants to be a missionary like us! This week was amazing! Its weeks like this that I´m sure make the mission worth it.
