I baptised someone on sunday! I baptised someone! I baptised someone!

Wow! This week has been crazy! I baptised someone on sunday! I baptised someone! I baptised someone! Hopefully you can feel my excitement! So a little bit about it. After church we had the baptismal meeting. I changed into my baptismal clothes, and then me and Kazeker went and sat on the front row. When it was time, we went to the pool where we would be doing the baptism. It was a cold day, so he was nervous about the cold water, but still so excited. When the time came, we jumped into the water and I said the baptismal prayer (in portuguese!). When I put him into the water, it just didn´t seem real. Everything really just went so fast and slow at the same time. Really the only semi equivalent experience/feeling I can think of is that first kiss you have with someone you really like. (I know that seems a little strange, but its just hard to even explain). After the baptism, I gave him a hug and asked him how he felt. He said that he felt like he had a new life! We are out here changing lives, changing the future, and saving the world. It really is an amazing and miraculous work. This week, we have been working a lot with one of our investigators who has already had to make so many changes in her life. She has stopped smoking, drinking coffee, and done all the things we have asked of her. Now, she is facing the biggest and most difficult change of all, separating from her husband so that she can live the law of chastity and be baptised. She wants to be baptised so badly. She has recieved so many signs that she knows that this is the right thing to do, without a doubt. It is amazing to see peoples lives change so much. We appear at the door one day and then their life changes forever. So on another note, I wanted to tell you guys about some of the little cool things that happened this week. On the 19th, I had my first experience with splits. I was really worried at first, but the elder I was paired with, Elder Babcock, was awesome. He was crazy and not afraid. He inspired me! Since being with him, I haven´t been scared of talking to people and looking a little stupid. I literally say hello to basically everyone I see on the street. Lots of times the people just look at me like I am stupid, but ever now and then there are those people that smile back at you, and those are the people I talk to! On the 20th, I had my most contacts ever! I got 14 contacts (a contact is when you get someones address and permission to come by their house another day). Part of the reason I was so happy and willing to make so many contacts was because of the package that you guys sent me. I got the 3 containers of peanut butter. It was miraculous. I told you I wanted some peanut butter and 3 days later it appears on my doorstep. It was amazing and impossible! Thanks!!! On the 22nd, I finally got the brownies grandma maier had sent to me on the 15th of august. It took over a month to get to me. Haha. I had one just yesterday tho and it was still very delicious! Tell Grandma thanks!!! Things here are just getting better and better! Elder Maier
